Social Value

Our core values are sustainability, community and impact

Working within the build environment we are very good at solving our clients problems. Mental ill-health is a silent crisis within the construction industry, with males three times more likely to commit suicide than those in other sectors. We also have an eye on our local community and our own environmental impact.

Social value is all about moving beyond using money as the main indicator of value, instead magnifying the emphasis on engaging people to understand the impact of decisions on their lives.  We really enjoy enhancing our customer's perspective and knowledge about solar renewable products and battery storage.  It's not just about reducing their reliance on the National Grid and saving money on monthly utility bills.  It's about educating people in how they consume energy and making conscious decisions that affect people's overall wellbeing and the planet.  We call it 'Wellbeing for the Planet'.

Social

Our roles are physically and mentally demanding, working long hours and often in compromising environments.  We encourage our team to make healthy choices and communicate openly.  We have access to a mindset coach, who regularly trains and educates in the areas of burnout, anxiety and depression.  Family and friendships are important to the wellbeing of our team, so we purposefully promote clean communication and planning.

To enhance our social impact with the wider community, we wanted to do something different in addition to 'planting a tree' for every project we complete, so we opted to support the local mental health charity, Trust Links.  They focus on therapeutic gardening, employment skills and human connection to aid lifetime recovery.  It made sense to invest into an organisation that helps people renew their physical, mental and emotional batteries by working in nature.  As we grow, they grow too.

A £25 donation for every solar installation in the Essex area will be donated to Trust Links Ltd (Registered Charity Number 1092324 and Company Number 4351216)

Economic

We employ local people who live in the area, limiting long journeys to and from work.  Our apprentices are employed via the local colleges in Southend and Benfleet.  Our customer base is in Essex, East London and Kent, so that we can limit mileage and time spent on the road.

Environmental

We practice what we preach and this year we are delighted to announce we are carbon neutral.

Our commercial premises benefits from a large solar array and battery storage to collect additional energy generated throughout the day to run our business overnight.

By the end of 2023 our fleet of commercial vehicles will be changed for an electric version. The additional energy that we generate from our solar array over the weekends will be used to recharge our fleet.
